STAR Center In Action – June 2017
Welcome to the June edition of the STAR Center newsletter!
The STAR Center is on the road again this month with visits to USVI and New Mexico. Our trip to USVI will include an opportunity to offer training in St. Croix introducing Recovery and Wellness Recovery Action Planning and working with community leaders in St. Thomas. In New Mexico, we will be offering training on Sustainability for Peer Run Organizations and Building New Era Leadership Skills: Organizing Community Across Intersecting Social Identities at the Annual Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Association of New Mexico Conference (PSRANM).
Our exciting Virtual Communities of Practice are underway! We have six peer run organizations working diligently on building infrastructure for data collection as we walk them through the STAR Center/CCSI Measuring What Matters for Peer and Family Run Organizations Toolkit. We also have twelve peer leaders from across the country working together every month on developing their Collaborative Leadership Facilitator Skills.
We are also excited to continue our Equity and Inclusion in Leadership National Networking Call for People of Color, co-facilitated by Celia Brown and Chacku Mathai.
Finally, we launched the STAR Center Executive Directors’ Roundtable – a virtual opportunity for current and aspiring Executive Directors of peer and family run organizations.
Where will the STAR Center be next?
In July we will be back in Oklahoma! We look forward to seeing you soon!
